Magnuts Gets A New Bed

Magnuts got a bed just like his brother's for his birthday. It was ordered last week from a local store named, I kid you not, "Badcock Furniture." When we arrived to pick it up DockLoaderGuy asked me who was going to assemble it. Apparently it is infamous because it is such a pain to put together.

Once all 3 of the giant boxes were lugged into the house and opened I had to agree with DockLoaderGuy. "Some Assembly Required" is a damn lie. They did chop down the trees, cut them into planks and paint them...but the rest was up to us. There were about 25lbs of hardware to be fastened, screwed, smacked and twisted.....oh yeah, and a drill is not recommended. The manual says that construction (my word, they were still lying and calling it "some assembly") should take about an hour. FOR WHOM? Someone on speed who has done it 100 times and is using a drill?

At some point I said that I didn't remember MonkeyBoy's being such a pain to construct. My husband reminded me that it wasn't, for me, he put that one together by himself. Ooops.....

Totally worth it, I love this bed!

I am familiar with the Badcock furniture...so I'll back you up to all those who say it ain't so! Cute bed! I just ordered bunks for the President (we're redoing his room for his birthday--I mean extreme makeover caliber re-do). Didn't get them at Badcock, though!

fab bed. But how do the sheets for the underneath bed not get all smushed and tangled up?

It is a fabulous bed though.

Badcock? heh heh heh

Ok, I am totally lusting after this bed. Poor CJ is still on the boxspring and frame (and mattresses). Well, for that fact, so are Jay and I. Headboards seem to be a luxury we can't afford. But we're contemplating buying a Wii? Go figure.

Nikki - yeah, I know, especially considering the bed was for Magnuts

Southern Fried Mom - Thanks, and to those of you who don't yet believe, be VERY careful if you start looking for the webpage.

Aimee - Thanks!

Margaret - generally the bottom mattress will not be that thick and won't have sheets on it unless someone is going to sleep on it. Magnuts thinks his new Badcock bed is fab too....

Jenny - LOL! we don't need no stinkin head boards!!! Plus there are a million ways to make your own really cool head boards now. My mom used an old fire place mantle for while it was very cool..

My little one will be two next month. We want to get him a "big boy" bed. This looks TOTALLY awesome. Does this special bed have a make, model, etc. I would love to know. This would be perfect with the little step, etc. :)

I'll just call you and have you assemble it for me. (wink wink)
